The IT/IS Leader provides leadership, management, and coordination of the IT/IS and Systems Engineering operations. Coordinates with appropriate internal and external parties on all executive levels to ensure system up-time KPIs are met along with facilitating project workloads/projects with the various Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance groups.  Provides project management guidance for multi-disciplined resources/projects and support matching inside resources. The IT/IS Leader contributes to building brand value and achieving system uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for manufacturing plant’s up-time of IT/IS systems
  • Responsible for ensuring efficiency and maintenance of IT/IS system positively affect the manufacturing environment’s OEE (overall equipment efficiency)
  • Leads departmental budgeting, planning and approval processes
  • Achieves and ensures departmental objectives consistent with corporate and global strategies
  • Prescribes policy compliance and enforcement
  • Acts as a liaison with executive management, both within the procurement function and interdepartmentally
  • Develops long range general IT/IS and Systems Engineering strategies and plans
  • Performs special projects requiring a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Coordinates project resources that best fits with the organizations needs following a waterfall/agile SDLC
  • Negotiates with support vendors for better solutions and rates resulting in more sustainable implementations
  • Supports multiple regions in the application of horizontal deployment

Background & Requirements

  • Ten or more years of comprehensive professional experience in the IT/IS field with some Manufacturing Systems Engineering
  • Five or more years as a Senior Manager, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and training and contributing to staff development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Systems or related discipline. MBA or Advanced degree preferred
  • Technical experience includes:
  • Automated manufacturing environments with large data collection repositories and industrial controls
  • Cimplicity, HMI, and SCADA platforms
  • SQL server and Oracle RDBMS 
  • Reviewing test plans (unit, system, integration, & user acceptance)
  • Reviewing Implementation plans
  • Incident, problem, and change management
  • Project Management methods, tools and application development process
  • Manufacturing execution system (MES) in a large-scale production environment
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in a large-scale production environment
  • Networking concepts and technologies   
  • Agile Methodology/Scrum principles an advantage
  • Native or fluent in verbal and written Spanish, as well as a professional level of English language.
