Purpose

Envision AESC is looking for an HSQE Director (Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality) to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent.

The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines and requirements, demanding cell production volume at a scale that was once thought to be impossible to reach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop discipline specific QA/QC requirement/protocols
  • Develop QA/QC requirements and protocols for project and for specific discipline / specialty area
  • Own and help create part of quality plan specific to civil & structural works, to electrical/instrumentation hardware and to mechanical
  • Approve selection of key materials
  • Review, approve, monitor, audit discipline-specific plan
  • Identify key quality risks and escalates as needed
  • Review and approve QC plans submitted by contractors
  • Monitor quality and implementation of quality plan during engineering and construction phases
  • Provide discipline- specific technical input
  • Work with related staff to ensure proper tools, procedures and equipment are being used to ensure quality within process standards, and within civil electrical and mechanical specifications
  • Participate in review and implementation of VIPs (Value Improving Practices) as needed
  • Provide leadership, interface management, and build team
  • Develops overall plan and system to ensure quality on the project (e.g., procurement guidance) –communicates strategy to key parties
  • Secures review and approval of quality system / plan from key stakeholders
  • Assigns clear responsibilities and tracks on all key quality dimensions
  • Develops method to measure KPI, progress, and shares with key leaders (e.g., rework of welds)
  • On site construction safety
  • Develop safety management plan in conjunction with PM company
  • Support development of safety targets for the project
  • Identify owner’s role on implementation of safety plan
  • Support identification and hiring of resources necessary for the implementation of safety plan
  • Review safety plans when submitted by contractors
  • Monitor and audit implementation of plans during construction phase
  • Assist VIP (Value Improving Practices) identification and implementation
  • Participate in reviews and implementation of VIPs as applicable
  • Liaise with field engineer to identify risk and potential mitigation plans related to safety during construction (e.g., scaffolding, rigging plans, soil conditions)

 
Background & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Civil/Industrial Engineering/HSE/Quality
  • Have at least 15 years of experience in supervising and managing Health & Safety, Quality and Environment in large industrial construction projects($100m+ capex)
  • Capable of reviewing existing operations within an organization through all the project phases (processes and procedures in both office and site), assessing both the strengths and weaknesses and assisting in compiling a bespoke set of process and procedures of all of the activities including but not limited to quality, health and safety, and environment
  • A “rounded profile”, comfortable with planning, analysis, project controls and managing process and commercial considerations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English, and presentation skills are a must
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals
  • Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn
  • Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution
