The Senior Manager of Operations will act as a work and thought leader, providing leadership to the Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.

The Senior Manager will contribute to multiple cross functional teams providing valuable insight and leadership throughout the Douai Battery plant. Be a key contributor in building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

Ensure safe, effective production, and on-time shipment of product to the customer. Develop and implement procedures for Envision AESC to optimize efficiencies and reduce risks while meeting all relevant regulatory requirements. Support and facilitate the acceptance and compliant implementation of new processes, technology, and products, into production in a timely fashion. As well as foster continuous improvement to develop, align, and exceed key performance indicators.  

Responsibilities 

  •  Control cost, including but not limited to setting targets and objectives, tracking progress, and identifying potential cost savings on current and future product versions. Primarily concerned with the areas of labour, scrap, overtime, repair costs, operating supplies, and bulk materials
  • Work in collaboration with the Production Engineering, Process Development, Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Administer shop floor management systems to ensure compliance and increase customer satisfaction
  • Assist in the development of new product planning, manpower assignments, and support of engineering trials. Oversee that staffing requirements and trial schedules are met.
  • Ensure all departmental targets for safety, production, cost, quality, and overall equipment efficiency are achieved. Identify areas not meeting goals and prepare countermeasures to correct.

 

Background and requirements

  • Manufacturing knowledge and expertise. Background in supporting a highly technical Lithium Ion or automotive-related manufacturing environment is highly desired. Experience in supporting the operations across various levels and functions.    
  • Ten or more years of comprehensive professional senior-level management experience in a similar function.  
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline.    
  • Knowledge of international standards organization (ISO) 90001 manufacturing quality standards, ISO 14000 environmental standards, and IATF 16949 Standards.    
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; report writing skills, presentation abilities, and motivational skills.    
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all staff levels and disciplines.    
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other PC applications to produce non-standard, creative products.    
  • Ability to travel
