Responsibilities 

  • Support on engineering phase outcomes for Engineer Civil & Structural works
    •  Manage coordination of technical interfaces
    • Monitors and report engineering productivity and progress
  • Translate project and business needs into Engineer Civil & Structural works scope
    • Manage development of scope to meet business needs
    • Recommend best technology for meeting the project’s and business’ needs
    • Helps define outside battery limit (OSBL) scope to meet business objectives
  • Own and maintain engineering standards in Engineer Civil & Structural works
    • Monitor compliance with quality and safety in design plans and take remediating action as needed
    •  Provide oversight/ input into Civil & Structural works engineering design
    •  Help identify key project risks related to engineering – raise and help solve
    • Provide guidance and oversight to functional area’s engineering team – track progress within area and remediate as/where needed
  • Ensure Engineer Civil & Structural works area supports project objectives (e.g., VIPs, schedule, productivity, etc.); identify risks and potential mitigation plans 

Staff

  • Staff and manage the Civil & Structural works engineering team assigned
  • Manage interface between PM consultants and Envision on technical issues
  • Coach and mentor counterparts and subordinates on excellence in the construction industry
  •  Foster an innovative environment amongst your team’s and those within the EPC contractor to help AESC succeed in accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy

Background & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Graduate studies in project management or business will be valued
  • Have at least 7 years of experience working for global leading companies in supervising and managing the design/engineering of large industrial projects ($100m+ capex)
  • Understanding of the potential implications of design changes/site instructions in relation to the key aspects identified above
  • Advanced knowledge and proven delivery on Civil and Structural Works
  • Front End Engineering Design
  • Analysis and design of all types of RCC and steel structures
  • Able to design all type of equipment foundations
  • Review and prepare civil method statements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English and, presentation skills are a must
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals
  • Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn
  • Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution
  • Driver’s license
